About Me Hailing from Washington D.C., I was born to my two loving parents Crystal Brown and Craig Dickens. I attended Anacostia Senior High school where I was immersed in a plethora of enrichening school/community activities. I mentored youth as a member of The Junior Reserve’s Officer Training Corps (J.R.O.T.C) where we accomplished many victories. I received the Superior Cadet Award, American Legion General Military Excellence Award, The Military of World Wars Award, The Military Order of Purple Heart, and was named Cadet of The year for three years in a row. The Washington Youth Choir, All City Choir and Anacostia Marching Band were all great catapults for the traveling opportunities I was afforded throughout the United States. As the first to attend college in my family, I began my journey at Cheyney University. I was honored to be crowned the title of Freshman Class Vice President. I also gained membership into the University’s prominent Concert/Gospel Choirs, The National Association of Negro Musicians, 105 Voices of History, The Collegiate 100, “Brotherhood/Sisterhood”, M.O.D.E.R.N MEN and Iconic Models. With all of these endeavors underway, I still remained victorious in my academic studies. Now as a transfer junior Social Work major and Music minor at Morgan State University, the blessings are continually flowing. I have since performed at the Inaugural Ceremonies for President Barack Obama in 2009 and 2012, the Christmas in Washington taping that was broadcasted on TNT, Kennedy Center Honors, BET Honors and Bobby Jones Gospel. My goal is to operate as a social worker and classically trained opera Singer and later open an Elementary school for the performing arts. Currently I am a section leader of the national recording group Chester Burke Jr. & Company. CBJCO was awarded three Rhythm of Gospel awards and nominated for six Kingdom Image Awards. Our album was released July 31, 2016 and our newest project will be available spring 2019. I attend Reid Temple AME church where I sing with the outstanding Young Adult choir (YAC).
